How we met

So confident that wewould get on well, Roger planned a whole day out.  We spent the morning looking around Ickworth house, the afternoon looking around Bury St Edmunds with a drink in  "the nutshell",  Britains smallest pub before a Byron Burger!  We talked for hours and have barely stopped laughing and joking around since then!

The Proposal

Old Town Bridge Tower in Prague.  The place was heaving with people, so with the combination of relative peace and quiet and stunning views of the city, Roger decided this was the place to do it.

Ellen was still recovering from a hard few weeks at work, so several attempts by Roger to steer the conversation towards how good of a year it had been were met with bemused looks and comments about how hard Ellen had been working instead.

Overlooking the Prague skyline with the city below Ellen joked "wouldn't it be funny if I fell off".

Exasperated, and unbeknownst to Ellen, Roger got down on one knee, behind her and pulled the ring from his Pocket. "You aren't making this easy are you" he exclaimed.

Still looking over the city "making what easy?"

"Proposing too you".

Ellen turns around.....

"GET UP"

"GET UP"

Apparently, she had not noticed that there were no onlookers.  An intensly private person, she was worried someone was watching.

After the initial shock, and with a smile that he will never forget, Ellen said yes! ... the rest is history.

The Big Day

The wedding will start at 16:30 at the back garden of the Worlingham Hall. So please make your way to the back garden by 15:45 (there will be ushers and little helpers everywhere on the day to direct you).

Weather permitting, our main event will be held predominantly outdoors, however, there is a marquee for those who prefer a bit of a shade.  This will be followed by cocktail reception drinks and an informal wedding buffet consisting of a hearty hog roast and a selection of Malaysian food (one not to be missed!!). If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know when you RSVP. Finally, there will be a cash bar and dancing after the meal.

Ladies - the wedding is an outdoor one, so lots of GRASS! Maybe stay away from stilettos unless you have proper heel protectors.

Little Red Envelopes

紅包, hóngbāo

We don't have a wedding list since we have been living together for a while and already have all the essentials!

In the Chinese culture, bride and groom receive red envelopes from their guests. So if you are thinking of presents, a contribution to our honeymoon  in a red envelope would be preferred.

RSVP

Your invitation will have specified if you are also invited to the tea ceremony on the 27th July. Please use the form to confirm your attendance by 26th May 2018.
